How many dogs can I bring? Is there a limit?

There is no dog limit per room. Three, four, as many as you have — no negotiating, no special permission needed. This is one of the few rural houses in Girona where that’s made clear from day one.

Do you accept large dogs and restricted breeds?

No restrictions whatsoever. Large dogs, small dogs, breeds classified as potentially dangerous — all welcome. What we ask for is responsibility from the owner, not restrictions on the animal. We’ve held this philosophy for 20 years and it hasn’t changed.

Can dogs roam freely and swim in the pool?

Yes, throughout the entire property: garden, pool, communal areas, bedrooms, terrace. We have a double filtration system in the pool specifically for this. There are no off-limits zones for dogs.

Are there usually other guests with dogs or would we be the only ones?

There are usually several dogs from different guests staying at the same time. In high season it’s normal to have between 4 and 8 dogs around. Travelling with a dog here is the norm, not the exception.

Is there a supplement for bringing a dog?

€6 per dog per night. Symbolic but necessary: double pool filtration, reinforced cleaning, more maintenance. Having dogs genuinely free throughout the property has a real cost. And there’s no dog limit — one or three dogs, same price per head.

Are there dog-friendly beaches nearby?

What if my dog doesn’t get on well with other dogs?

For this reason, we are committed to a model of conscious, efficient and deeply pet-friendly rural tourism, where technology, respect for the environment and living alongside pets go hand in hand.

We have a photovoltaic installation consisting of:

🔹 Individual panel power: 450 W
🔹 Total installed capacity: ~32.4 kWp

Thanks to the high level of solar radiation in the Empordà, this system allows an estimated annual production of between 50,000 and 55,000 kWh, covering a very significant part of the accommodation’s energy consumption.

➡️ A large part of the energy used to heat water, light the rooms and provide comfort for guests and pets is generated directly at the farmhouse.

🔋 Batteries to make the most of every ray of sunshine

Solar energy is complemented by an energy storage system with:

🔹 40 kWh in batteries
🔹 Use of surplus energy
🔹 Use of self-generated energy during the night

This allows us to:

reduce dependence on the grid,
minimise consumption peaks,
and ensure a more stable energy supply, even during periods of high occupancy (when dogs and people are enjoying themselves to the fullest 🐶😄).

The climate control at Mas Torrencito is provided by aerothermal technology, a highly efficient and environmentally friendly system that offers:

stable and comfortable temperatures all year round.

💧 Responsible water use

We use greywater recycling systems, reusing water from showers and washbasins for other non-potable purposes.

In a rural setting, every drop counts, especially when there are gardens, green areas and happy dogs running around.
